The FS20X Flame Detector represents a significant advancement in flame detection technology, combining multi-spectrum infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), and visible (VIS) sensing for superior fire detection performance. Built on the proven platform of the SS4 Flame Detector, the FS20X delivers faster response times, longer detection ranges, and exceptional false alarm immunity across a wide range of industrial environments.
Unlike conventional UV/IR detectors that rely on narrow-band IR sensors, the FS20X utilizes WideBand IR™ technology and a solar-blind UV sensor, enabling reliable detection even in challenging conditions such as heavy smoke, contaminated lenses, or installations behind glass. This ensures consistent performance where older technologies often fail.
With a detection range exceeding 200 feet for a 1 sq. ft. heptane fire, and a 90° full cone of vision, the FS20X provides broader coverage—reducing the total number of detectors required for facility protection.
